RAIS Lancaster and Beyond Radio are working together in partnership and are excited to have launched a new monthly radio show called Beyond Sanctuary. Every third Thursday of the month, Beyond Radio will
provide a platform for asylum seekers and refugees to share their stories and have their voices heard. Together, we will feature a diverse range of guest speakers, each with unique backgrounds and experiences, who are eager to share their personal journeys, music, and perspectives.
Listeners across North Lancashire will gain insight into the realities of living as an asylum seeker or refugee, including the challenges that drive people to leave their home countries and an opportunity to learn about their diverse cultures. Given the widespread misinformation about asylum-seeking in the UK, we aim to foster greater understanding, compassion, and awareness among local audiences, shedding light on global issues and the lived experiences of those seeking refuge in the UK.
